I have both, and they do sound different of course. The DD3, besides the bass roll off, to my ears has a boost in the high mids too. This could probably be due to the pre emphasis filters. The closest I got with the Timeline was by setting the Hi Pass anywhere between 200-300hz for brighter repeats. What the timeline still doesnt replicate on the digital mode, is the natural degrading and compression characteristics of the chips in these pedals. Brad Paisley actually still prefers the DD2 to the 3 or the others, due the technical worse chips which were more lofi and introduced some natural compression. This makes a lot of sense cause another thing I noticed was that with the Timeline the first repeat seemed somehow louder and with my DD3 it feels more subdued. The Boss DD3 to me still is the best digital delay pedal out there, especially for distorted sounds.

This is fantastic man!! Definitely what I've been looking for! I've actually measure the Memory Man emulation frequency curves on the SoundToys Echoboy plugin, and the low pass filter is at about 2.4K (with a 3 db bump on the cutoff frequency, a bit of resonance/Q) You're right the filter slope on the memory seems a bit sharper than the Timeline. Did you by any chance match the rate/speed of the modulation? Would be interesting to figure out where it matches on the speed knob of the Timeline. Thanks!

I have the first version, dr100 .since 2005 . Same thing Inside just relabeled... It’s still going strong, but the lettering on the top of the pedal are completely worn away. I only use plate and modulate. I always talk about buying another reverb pedal. And then I say why,.. I’ve changed all my pet since then. And this is still the only one left. It’s amazing. I had the reverb machine once. But I sold it to get money to buy something else. This is one of the best behringer pedals they ever made , if you find a DR 100 the tone control has a better sweep than the DR 600. So look for that one.

I used to use the ME80..until i got a Kemper .... but i would still use that thing..learned to put a dummy headphone type jack in it and it engaged the cab sim in it and it sounded really good..used the metal setting with delay and harmonizer directly into daw/frfr..and it sounded great for shredding ( sounds like crap without the head phone plugged into it) .. made a not that great youtube vid just improvising on it several years ago..( ARCH KARR)..i think in was intended to plug into front end of amp/cab..( and have cab sim in headphones.) but plugging in chopped off head phone jack into it,let the cab sim come through to daw/ frfr..sounds killer. Dont try that without the plug..you'll hate it like i first did.. i was like..wuuuttt..sounds like crap..lol

We need some quality valve preamp pedals, bit like Victory Kraken V4. I don't want giant heads and cabs everywhere taking up space. Every amp head is basically an expensive one trick pony. But I'd happily have a handful of valve preamp pedals on my desk running into a cab IR loader. Best of vintage and modern workflow combined.

have u used the transparent amp with an acoustic guitar? it says it is good for acoustic. what about using me 90 straight to PA for live will it sound fine. I need multi-effects processors for both acoustic AND ELECTRIC. mainly for worship would u recommend it

I hate this pedal as much as the rest but please turn up the treble on your banjo - it seems as though you are deliberately making this unit sound dull. And is dad rock? This unit suffers from brightness that can be eq'd at your end (the guitar you fail to show us) and the units end also

i HAVE A TERROR 15 STILL IN THE BOX, HAVNET OPLUGGED IT IN YET .......now im wondering should I trade it for a differen amp. I really want a Peavey Jsx or 5150 III used & beat up even,dont care but those are a few amps I really want. Plus I have a Crush 100 head ...... its ok, good rock/metal amp. But not what I want.

Ok ive been playing for a LOT of years but I wouldnt consider myself any kind of expert on anything. But even i know that using amp simulators and EQ presets while outputting to a guitar amp is just not advisable. I use the ME 50 with my Peavy Classic 50 in my left channel and my VOX VT100x in my right channel. I have already auditioned both preamps and gotten the sound separation I want from each am (in bypass mode w no onbard treatment). I go L out to the Peavey and R out to the VOX. The ME 50 have several EQ presets in the preamp stage. I DO NOT USE THEM ever when im using an amp. WHy? Cuz Im already getting the best each amplifier can give for my ears. What I use the ME 50 for is TREATING my sound. The ME 50 as a preamp wave producer does more of what i need than the VOX VT preamp effects and its more controllable. The Peavey only has a reverb chamber but i dont use that. The ME 50 provides me with far more flexibility as far as reverb is concerned. But i just never ever use an EQ preset in this stereo configuration. It degrades my sound and i dont understadn why anyone would expect ANY preset or amp sim to sound good......THRU AN AMP. Now thru a "speaker" is a different story. a flat response studio monitor could benefit from an amp SIMULATOR. WHy? cuz ur simulating an amp thru a flat response speaker.

Bro ur ALREADY WAAY in the weeds. Most of this was gobbledygook to me. Its too tech geeky. The whole reason I choose the ME series over the GT series is because I DONT LIKE SUB-MENUS. I dont need more, i need to turn the knobs, save the patches, push the pedals and FUCKING rock n roll! All the shit ur doing is what i would pay a guitar tech to do.

Good comparison. I think the best use case is recording with both and blending them in the mix as a sort of "EQ", if you will.

Interesting… I had a mesa 4x12 with v30’s and I found them to be fuzzy. I only recently found out Marshall uses its own vintage speaker in the jubilee and vintage cabs. I really like the Marshall g12 vintage speakers and will prob get those in the future to pair with a jubilee mini.

Question: KATANA POWER AMP IN , bypasses any preamp the Katana has and just uses the Speaker. Shouldn't this save most of the issues ?
